Gaetz wants more CAPE, Weatherford more opportunity scholarships

The Speaker of the Florida House and the Senate President say they intend to “double down” on an education reform measure the Legislature passed in 2013.

Senate President Don Gaetz, R-Niceville and Speaker Will Weatherford, R- Wesley Chapel, released a three-point agenda for education on Wednesday they are calling Economic Opportunity Through Education Plan. They intend to push legislation to increase the value and accessibility of higher education, expand school choices for families in poverty and cement a link between education and jobs.
