Vehicle fee cut won't reach 756,000 cars next year

Florida owners of more than 756,000 vehicles won’t see a discount on their registration fees next year, despite a bill awaiting Gov. Rick Scott’s signature to cut the fees by $395 million per year.

That’s because they paid their registration fees for two years at a time this year. Under the legislation passed by both the House and the Senate, SB 156, there is no provision to offer a rebate to those who used biennial registration. In fact, there is a provision specifically nixing rebates for them.
