Florida Chamber pushes trade as path to diversify economy

ORLANDO -- Diversifying Florida’s economy and reducing its over reliance on tourism, agriculture and growth has long been a project of the state’s business sector.

This year, the Florida Chamber of Commerce, the state’s leading business lobby, is again touting trade as a way to diversify the economy. But Florida will have to keep relying on tourism and hope for a continued economic rebound to provide the investments needed to turn Florida into the “international trade hub” envisioned by the business sector.
