House, Senate pass memorials supporting coal, raising concerns about federal regulations

A House memorial supporting coal-fired electricity and urging Congress to provide flexibility for Florida in reducing carbon emissions passed its second committee stop on Thursday.

President Barack Obama in 2013 directed the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency to begin rulemaking for new and modified power plants for carbon emissions that scientists say contribute to climate change.
