Gov. Rick Scott on Friday signed SB 1472 placing limits on utilities that charge customers for planned nuclear power plants. The Southern Alliance for Clean Energy, which unsuccessfully challenged the 2006 law allowing recovery of nuclear projects costs, said the bill changes will not work if the PSC does not work. ... The governor's Chief Inspector General's Office starts its search for an inspector general for Citizens Property Insurance Corp. this week, DEP meets to consider rule development for petroleum cleanup sites, and a forum will be held in Jacksonville on the Silver Springs and the St. Johns River.

This week we learned that Gov. Scott used an incentive deal made prior to a trade mission to justify such trips, that the state and Amazon are talking again about the online retailer setting up Florida facilities and that Scott signed a bill to speed up death penalty cases.
The governor said Thursday that he thought school cost too much when he was a student and repeated his opposition to an inflation-adjusted 1.7 percent tuition increase. Problem is that the boost is mandated by a 2007 law.
