Scott signs $395 million vehicle fee cut

Florida drivers will see an average $25 drop in vehicle registration fees starting Sept. 1, after Gov. Rick Scott signed SB 156 into law Wednesday, a $395 million per year cut in the fees.

Scott slammed his likely opponent in the gubernatorial election this year, his predecessor Gov. Charlie Crist who signed the fee increases into law in 2009 as a Republican. Crist has since become a Democrat.
