Senate bill urging Congress to repeal renewable fuels requirement avoids getting killed

A Senate bill that would ask Congress to repeal a renewable fuel requirement that leads to the blending of ethanol into gasoline was temporarily passed in a Senate committee on Thursday in the face of a defeat.

Meanwhile, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection said it will spend only $110 million of its $125 million appropriation on cleaning up petroleum contamination sites because of the process of transitioning to a new contractor bid program.
