Florida joins federal lawsuit against BP for 2010 oil spill

Gov. Rick Scott announced Wednesday that Florida is joining a federal lawsuit filed in Louisiana seeking damages from BP and others for the April 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

The lawsuit seeks compensation for damage to natural resources unlike a lawsuit for economic damages filed by Attorney General Pam Bondi in 2013.
