Putnam explains tax cut bill, defends leadership role on energy

Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam told a House subcommittee that the Legislature lacks the appetite for renewable energy legislation so he isn't proposing any this year.

During an hourlong presentation to the House Energy & Utilities Subcommittee, Putnam also said the need for energy diversity is waning because of falling natural gas prices. He also defended his leadership since the Legislature transferred the state energy office to his department in 2011.
