Florida adds 14,100 jobs in December, jobless rate down to 6.2 percent

The state unemployment rate fell by 0.2 points last month to 6.2 percent, the lowest rate in Florida for more than five years, according to numbers released Friday by the Department of Economic Opportunity.

Employers added 14,100 jobs in December, and there were 192,900 jobs added in all of 2013, a job growth rate of 2.6 percent. The national job growth rate for last year was 1.6 percent and the national unemployment rate stands at 6.7 percent.
