Last Updated Jan. 26, 2015: District 34 is on the southeastern coast of Florida, stretching from Gulf Stream down to Hollywood. It encompasses parts of Palm Beach and Broward counties. According to voter registration tallies released by the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections, there are 101,539 registered Democrats and 69,300 registered Republicans in District 34. The Broward County Supervisor of Elections reports 41,702 registered Democrats and 43,359 registered Republicans, giving the district 143,241 registered Democrats and 112,659 registered Republicans overall. The area is overwhelmingly white, with more than 78 percent of people identifying as such. Close to 9 percent of people are black and 10 percent are Hispanic.
