Two South Florida lawmakers want the state education commissioner to be an elected position.
“Voters ought to be able to vet these candidates as opposed to someone who is appointed by someone who is appointed by someone whose agenda may not meet the expectations or desires of most Floridians,” said Sen. Dwight Bullard, D-Miami.
