PROPERTY TAXES… The House Local Government Affairs Committee takes up a bill changing the formula that determines local property tax rates at a meeting starting 11:30 a.m. in room 212 of the Knott Building.

PROPERTY INSURANCE...The Senate Banking and Insurance Subcommittee discusses several bills including one that alters how assignment of benefit agreements are regulated in room 110 of the Senate building starting 1:30 p.m.

HEALTH CARE… The Senate Health Policy Committee considers a series of major health bills including balance billing, direct primary care, managed care prescription protocols and certificates of need 1:30 p.m. Monday in room 412 of the Knott Building.

FINANCIAL AID… State economists on the Education Estimating Conference discuss student financial aid 9 a.m. Tuesday in room 117 of the Knott Building.

SENATE SESSION… The Florida Senate holds a floor session starting 10 a.m. Tuesday. The agenda includes a discussion on adult pre-arrest division.

MARIJUANA… The House Health Care Appropriations Subcommittee takes up a bill on the state’s low-THC marijuana program and another on abortions 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in room 212 of the Knott Building.

DEATH PENALTY… The House Criminal Justice Subcommittee will take up a bill reforming Florida’s death penalty procedures in room 404 of the House building at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

HOUSE SESSION… The Florida House holds a floor session starting 4 p.m. Tuesday. The agenda includes guns and mandatory minimums.

ACA FIGHT… Jonathan Oberlander, professor and chair of Social Medicine and professor of Health Policy & Management at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, will explore ongoing political fights over and implementation of the Affordable Care Act, health care cost control and Medicare reform at the Bob Graham Center on the University of Florida’s campus 6 p.m. Tuesday.

THE BUDGET… The House Appropriations Committee is expected to debate and pass its budget proposal 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in room 212 of the Knott Building. The Senate Appropriations Committee is expected to do the same 9 a.m. Wednesday in room 412 of Knott.

CABINET MEETING… The Cabinet and the governor hold their regular meeting 9 a.m. Thursday at the Bob Thomas Equestrian Center on the Florida State Fair Grounds in Tampa. CANCELLED

THE BUDGET… The House of Representatives is expected to publish its budget Friday, having approved its proposed committee bill.
