Last updated Oct. 10, 2014: Florida’s unemployment insurance program, called “reemployment assistance,” provides temporary financial assistance to workers who lost their jobs through no fault of their own. In Florida, reemployment a ssistance is drawn from the unemployment benefits trust fund. Employers pay for the fund through a tax managed by the Florida Department of Revenue, and are prohibited from deducting from worker's payrolls to do so.
