Senate lines up behind vehicle fee cut, insurance tax break repeal

The Senate passed SB 1832 unanimously Wednesday, which would reduce vehicle and tag fees by repealing a $220 million tax break for the insurance industry.

“I think as we sit here in 2013, I personally believe that we should take this opportunity -- with everything going on in session, let’s try to do something for the men and women and the families that we represent,” said Sen. Joe Negron, R-Stuart, sponsor of the bill.
