House committee votes no on Medicaid expansion

Uncertain about the future, Republicans on a House committee looking into the Affordable Care Act voted to not expand Medicaid coverage to about 1 million Floridians. On a 10-to-five party line vote, the committee instructed staff to draft legislation to turn down federal money to provide health care to people living in households earning up to 138 percent of the federal poverty level.
