Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam said in 2012 it was important to show that Florida could pass an energy bill -- even if it was only modest one.
This year, though, Putnam isn't recommending energy legislation, noting that HB 7117 in 2012 was nearly vetoed by Gov. Rick Scott. The governor allowed the bill to become law without his signature.
