Lawmakers zeroing in on Obamacare cost

The Affordable Care Act means billions of dollars for Florida hospitals, if state lawmakers agree to lower Medicaid eligibility to include people making up to 138 percent of the federal poverty level.

By covering millions of people who lack health insurance, Medicaid expansion would save hospitals billions of dollars in uncompensated care, hospital executives told the House Select Committee on the Patient Protection Affordable Care Act on Monday.
