In addition to increased education spending, Gov. Rick Scott told newspaper editors and broadcasters Wednesday that his 2013-14 budget will eliminate the sales tax on manufacturing equipment.
The governor declined to divulge details of the spending plan he will send to state lawmakers on Thursday afternoon, deferring questions until then. But Scott, who has increased exemptions from the corporate income tax through his first two years in office, said he will expand the exemption again to apply to an additional 2,000 businesses.
