Senate education spending panel considers school safety pricetag

Florida lawmakers are beginning to compile a shopping list of security items for public schools. The Senate Appropriations Education Subcommittee on Wednesday invited representatives from Baker, Orange, St. Johns and Volusia counties to a brainstorming session as it prepares to write legislation in response to last month’s Connecticut elementary school massacre.
