The trade association for Florida's main street merchants announced the appointment of a new lobbying chief Tuesday.
Melissa Joiner brings nearly 12 years of experience to her new post as governmental-affairs director for the Florida Retail Federation. She joined the federation from the March of Dimes Florida chapter, where she managed government and fundraising efforts. Joiner was director of legislative and external affairs for the Department of Community Affairs before joining the March of Dimes in 2011.
