House Minority Leader pro tempore Mia Jones declared her candidacy Wednesday to become her party's leader in the chamber in 2014.

Jones, D-Jacksonville, formally notified the House clerk's office of her candidacy for speaker in the 2014-16 term. But unless the Democrats pick up an astronomical 17 seats in the next elections, the post will really be House minority leader.
