The Senate’s budget chief on Wednesday told his subcommittee chairs how he wants them to review the state budget. Senate Appropriations Chairman Joe Negron, in a meeting that lasted less than 15 minutes, explained he wanted committees to take a deeper look at state contracts and recurring local projects and to ask questions about the effectiveness of state programs.
