It's been a comparatively slow quarter for major lobbying firms in Tallahassee, as House and Senate members turned their attention to seeking re-election in realigned legislative districts.
But the work of government, and shaping policy actions to the benefit of corporate clients, never stops around the Capitol. Third-quarter compensation reports, due by midnight Wednesday, showed at least two blue-chip -- probably three -- lobbying firms with million-dollar-plus billings for the quarter, and seven others that were paid between $500,000 and $1 million.
