Environmentalists raise fears about highway corridor studies in meeting with DOT officials

Environmental groups told state transportation officials on Thursday they're concerned that a process for identifying future highway corridors could lead to new development through Florida's remaining rural areas.

The Florida Department of Transportation has identified five study areas throughout the state for possible new toll roads or other limited access highways.
