Director of Florida's beleaguered jobless benefits system received jobless benefits, traveled to Europe

Hunting Deutsch, who heads the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, received unemployment benefits after he was laid off by Bank United in 2009.

Hunting Deutsch, a bank executive with 35 years of experience, lost his job during one of the most expensive bank failures of the Great Recession. While out of work he received unemployment compensation benefits from 2009 to 2011.
