No political activity involving Nancy Argenziano is likely to be uninteresting.
In 10 years as a Republican state legislator from Citrus County, and nearly three on the Florida Public Service Commission, Argenziano earned a reputation as a feisty advocate of clean water and ethics reforms and a fierce critic of well-monied special interests. She once sent a bale of cow manure to a lobbyist who offended her and, when legislators with outside jobs or wealthy spouses moved to forego a pay raise, Argenziano -- a full-time lawmaker -- lamented on the House floor that "I don't want to be a bag lady."
