NECC relinquishes Florida permit

The Massachusetts specialty pharmacy at the center of a nationwide meningitis outbreak has relinquished its permit to do business in Florida. The New England Compounding Pharmacy listed 260 Florida facilities as clients. Since the outbreak began in late September Florida has linked 17 cases and three deaths to NECC steroids used during surgery on the heart or eye and to treat back pain.
