While visiting struggling seafood workers, Scott says water focus should be on federal reservoir operations

EASTPOINT -- Gov. Rick Scott visited struggling Franklin County seafood workers on Wednesday and seemed to dismiss the idea of working with the governors of neighboring states who are battling with Florida for water.

Scott last month asked the U.S. Department of Commerce to declare a fishery disaster in Apalachicola Bay because of declining oyster populations, putting fishermen out of work. On Wednesday, Scott handed out grocery bags of food to struggling seafood workers in their cars.
