The legislative lobbying doesn't stop, just because Florida lawmakers leave town to run for re-election.
For the second calendar quarter, four top Tallahassee public-policy consultants -- whose lobbying clients include private prisons, gambling interests, developers and big health-care companies -- reported more than $1 million each in payments by companies affected by government policies. Another 11 lobbyists or firms raked in from $500,000 to $1 million and 13 of Tallahassee's persuasion pros scored between a quarter-million and half-million from April through June.
