Automobile insurers are clamoring to take advantage of new legislation passed this year to combat fraud involved in Florida’s personal injury protection (PIP) insurance, but are not as keen on adjusting their rates in kind.
As of July 17, the Office of Insurance Regulation has received 111 filings from automobile insurers looking to adjust their policy forms to comply with provisions in HB 119. Eighty-nine of those forms have been approved and eight forms were withdrawn; the remaining 14 are pending.
