DOH deputy secretary moves to DOC

Florida's beleaguered Department of Health, beset by an executive exodus in recent months, had more change at the top on Friday -- announcing the departure of its medical chief and the hiring of a new chief of staff.

Steven Harris, a Texas-educated physician who has been at DOH for nearly a year, will leave his deputy secretary post at DOH and move to the Department of Corrections on Aug. 2 as head of medical services. He is the DOH deputy secretary for health and had been interim surgeon general during a gap between Secretary Frank Farmer, who left in March because of his wife's health problems, and the current department head,  John H. Armstrong, who is DOH secretary and surgeon general.
