Dr. John Armstrong is the new surgeon general and health secretary.

Gov. Rick Scott reorganized the Department of Health and hired a new secretary on Friday.

Dr. John Armstrong replaces acting secretary Dr. Steven Harris who has been serving as interim secretary since Dr. Frank Farmer abruptly resigned in March for family reasons.
