The sponsor of a House fertilizer bill said Wednesday he thinks the issue is dead for the session.
The lawn care industry has been battling with cities, counties and environmentalists since Pinellas County adopted a summer fertilizer ban in 2010. Environmentalists say local fertilizer controls are needed to protect waterways while lawn care businesses argue against creating a patchwork of local regulations.
