Beekeeping bill keeps moving in Senate after League of Cities drops its stinger

A bill that would prohibit local governments from regulating beekeeping is buzzing through the Senate after cities dropped their opposition.

Beekeeping is a $13 million industry in Florida and beekeeping provides an estimated $20 million in increased production for fruits and vegetables that benefit from pollination. Some cities and counties, however,  have banned beekeeping or restricted it to agricultural areas because of safety concerns.
