The Everglades Foundation has opened a Tallahassee office to boost its role in Capitol policymaking and is hosting its first water conference in Tallahassee this week.
The Everglades Foundation was formed in 1994 to "advance an understanding of the greater Everglades ecosystem and its irreplaceable environmental and economic value." Kirk Fordham, who was the architect of the fundraising effort behind Mel Martinez' U.S. Senate campaign in 2004, is the foundation's CEO.
